LitCon

LitCon is The Battering Ram Literary Journal’s high school literary convention for local creative Hudson Valley students, designed to give students a space to meet each other, share their work, and learn with local professionals.

In 2016, we moved the event from a weekend to a school day, making it a field trip for visiting schools. We fleshed out the day by asking a group of varied professionals in literary journal-related fields to come and lead short workshops. We provided lunch and finished the day with a discussion and the essential student reading. The event grew from there in the following two years.
